A Whole New Level

Snow Melt Eads Bridge

The weather has gotten much warmer in the last several days. No more ice in the Mississippi. The piles of snow are almost all gone, flushing the streets with melt-water.

Eads Bridge had its usual gold glow in Saturday's late afternoon sun. The standing water on Sullivan Boulevard reflects the bridge, making it look like there is another world below.

Madeleine Monday

Junior Partner

A junior partner? Madeleine makes a visit to my new office. Unfortunately, she is not tall enough to be admitted to the bar.

  3. Incredible shot Bob, so much leading up to and through the arches, lots to appreciate in this image. If that is a tongue poking out it could be a clue as to what Madeleine thinks of the future career choice you mentioned :)

  4. I like the bonus reflection of Eads Bridge in the street.

Congratulations on your new macro lens. Julie loves hers.

If you want to find some frogs like I have been showing, when you go back to our place in Tamarindo, you might consider having a guide take you to Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Then ask him to lead you on a hike through the forest.

It is higher elevation and gets more moisture than the coastal dry forests near Tamarindo. The guide should be able to find some frogs under leaves in places you might not think to look.

There are some waterfalls in the area and some geothermal bubbling mud pits and steam vents. If you want to add an adrenaline rush, the zip lines, etc. of Hacienda Guachipelin are adjacent to it.

Another challenge for a macro would be leaf cutter ants. You can sometimes see them as close as the path to the beach alongside our Langosta condo. The landscaper or security guard might also be able to tell you where to find them.

    Have a great trip.

  5. Love the colors of the first shot and also the glorious light.I have the feeling that the little one has inherited something from her family already. Stick your tongue out and laugh to everything you see. Thats the spirit.

  7. Love that bridge in Saint Louis. I remember exploring all of that area some year ago. Very different look now.
    Madeleine is a cutie!

  11. You must be so relieved to finally have a break in the frigid weather. I have so many friends who were affected by the polar vortex! And yes, Maddie is cute. It's fun watching her grow on your blog.

  12. That is a beautifully composed bridge shot, Bob, and the golden hues on the walls and in the puddle are perfect.

Miss Maddie is growing up so fast! It is scary . . .

  15. You're never to young to be introduced to the world of business :)

She seems to be enjoying it - I wonder what word she's got on the tip of her tongue?
