Winter light is a treat. Golden hour just lasts and lasts. It's particularly pleasant when you have a golden carpet to shoot on, like in the manicured evergreen woods in Tower Grove Park. The shooting was easy last weekend, when the temperatures reached 65 F / 18 C. This is supposed to be deep winter, ladies and gentlemen. We're not that far north and a typical January isn't that bad here, but I remember -16 F / -27 C in January since I've lived in this city. Makes us wonder what we will experience in July.
My view is that Al Gore is right and U.S. Senator James Inhofe is a dangerous wacko. Your views are welcome.

Well... 2011 was the warmest year on record in France...
ReplyDeleteYes, the golden hour, perfectly well caught here.
j'aime beaucoup la lumiere (avec les ombres super) et surtout la tonalité de la photo.
ReplyDeleteIn Costa Rica there a species of frogs that exists only at higher elevations than their previous habitat, obviously a result of global warming.
ReplyDeleteWhen one considers the amount of emissions for cars and factories around the world, I can't imagine how anyone could think that all of those emissions would not have an effect upon the atmosphere. Scientists should not be necessary to figure that out. It is common sense.
How so many people became hostile to science I will never understand.
Costa Rica is committed to and on track to become the world's first carbon-neutral country -- by 2021.
I have to agree with the last comment, don't let facts and Science get in the way of God. If there was a God he would like it if people looked after his creation?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image of these majestic tall tree and their shadows caught in the golden hour light! The fact is that the weather all over the world IS warming up, so y'know, something is going on!! 18C is a normal winters day for us here Bob.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoying the blog since I ran across it; thanks for your efforts. Concepts like global warming have to be evaluated according to hard data over a long period of time, which I guess is another way of saying that I think our observations as people experiencing weather in a particular place don't mean much scientifically. Plus it's hard to get upset about it when I can walk for blocks in the city of Chicago in January without a stinging face and a runny nose. Call me selfish.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot Bob.
ReplyDeleteI don't know Inhofe but you say he's a wacko that's good enough for me. :-)
I'm ok with warmer winters.
ReplyDeleteThe light here is beautiful. Everything looks like its bathed in gold. Just lovely!
Beautiful photo, Bob. It is similar to brattcat's.
ReplyDeleteI came by to tell you I appreciate your comment on Taphophile Tragics today, Bob. (I often appreciate the comments I see you leave on blogs we both visit.)
ReplyDeleteYour photo of this winter day in a park is wonderful... and I agree the Senator and his ilk are monstrously wrong in their world view.
Beautiful, Bob! It looks like spring here too and January usually is our dullest month. Actually it doesn't rain since last November, when we had storm after storm.
