Some of the 64,000 people parading through downtown at the Komen Race For The Cure (very few actually ran). You could no more stop this flow than the Mississippi. The top picture is looking west on Olive. I was standing between 14th and 15th on the platform in front of the Parkside Plaza building. It's hard for me to tell but the crest of that hill is about 22nd or 23rd Street.
Come down to the street view on Downtown St. Louis 365.
Here in Australia we have Pink for Breast Cancer walks and parties etc but we don't have Komen. Is that some sort of sponsorship or a research institute? I am not sure when our pink day is but not this past weekend. It was certainly well attended - and pink!!
ReplyDeleteThis is impressive. The color is a little light, otherwise it might look like a crowd at a Cardinals game.
ReplyDeleteThough I see it's important, you wouldn't get me to be in that crowd.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous shots, Bob.
ReplyDeleteWow that is one big mass of people Bob, so impressive that so many people would get involved. Mind you it is a mega important cause. Great photos, you've really captured the enormity of it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots Bob!
ReplyDeleteC'EST TOTALEMENT IMPRESSIONNANT, cette marée humaine rose, c'est de la folie. Tes photos sont superbes , elles nous font bien voir CETTE FOULE.....
ReplyDeleteWhat a truly heartwarming sight. How wonderful!

Wow, how spectacular!
ReplyDeleteI remember feeling engulfed in the crowd and taking similar shots during the "city to surf" race in Sydney.
The Susan G. Komen Foundation sponsors race for a cure. Breast cancer is bad; using pink to represent breast cancer fundraising efforts is also bad. Pink--yuck. Anyway, it's a cool photo.
