Les Impressionnistes et Les Photobloggeurs

.
What a delightful day. We enjoyed a very French two and a half hour lunch with blogger friends Peter of Peter's Paris, Cergie of Cergipontin and Olivier of Evry Daily Photo. The venue was Restaurant Fournaise on Chatou Island in the Seine, west of the city. It is sometimes called the island of the impressionists, as several of them, particularly Renoir, painted the scene.Wonderful company, wonderful food and a gorgeous spring day.

I hope to get many more photos edited on the plane home tomorrow, which I will post here and on Flickr.

  3. I read about the lunch at Peter's too. What a great time the lot of you must have had. I'm quite jealous actually. I'm glad Cergie thought of that restaurant and you were blessed with good weather, I'm sure it was a wonderful experience.

Next time you're in Paris, please remember that Avignon is only a 2 hour and 20 minute TGV hi-speed train ride from Paris, it's not hard to fit into even the tightest of itineraries!

  4. I loved your photos of the Luxembourg gardens, particulary the top one. The contrast between the two statues is striking!

  7. I knew it. You all didn't leave me one drop of wine!!! How nice to see all of our blog friends together. I'm thinking this place I might have to see for myself. I can hear Peter muttering something about my list getting way too long already!!HA Bob, hope you and Carolyn had a lovely anniversary dinner and that your French insured that reservation. Wishing you many happy years to come. Have a safe trip home.

  8. What is it about the French and their table ware, glasses, and such? Always so elegant.

I saw Olivier's photos of your meetup, I'm so glad you got to meet.

The visit to the bird market is so unexpected and so smart.

  9. Hi Bob and Carolyn ! Welcome back home !
Happy having had the chance to meet you. It's funny to discover the difference between our four blogs. Showing the table at the end of the lunch is a great idea. The sign seems to be a dream coming from the past.
I read you enjoyed the Les Bouquinistes restaurant (without problem you got the table you have reserved by phone). We have to try it now.
And you went to the Orsay Museum. A good idea after the lunch we had in Chatou.
I find that Van Gogh has the same look than Clint Eastwood. Don't you think so ?
