That's what Mr. Rogers said to us, day after day. But beauty is varied in its qualities and experience. There are people who would consider this scene bleak, others who might find an intricate, quiet charm. The ice appears to be ready to pull down some of the trees but, fortunately, the utility lines are underground. This is my street, a telephoto look from just below my front steps.

ReplyDeleteWhen we had ice storms when I was growing up in Quincy, the city would be so quiet except for the cracking and popping of twigs and ice breaking.

ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty sight. As long as there's not an excess of it, because that will tend to bring trees down.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of living in Maine. We had an ice storm, trees and wires down, power failure, it was a nightmare. I don't miss that. Impressive looking house, Bob!
