There are plenty of rowdy people at the St. Patrick's Day parade. The SLPD makes sure it doesn't get out of hand.
Pointless observation: we had quiche for dinner last night because, in American date notation, it was 3 14 16.

I told them at my favorite cafe that it was Pi day as they had missed that. Oh, and shiny boots is a must when you drive a police motorcycle.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a good thing to have a small police presence at parades and rally's, not too many that could be construed as 'threatening. Looks like St Louis has it just right Bob.
ReplyDeleteP.s. I've always used 'embiggen' instead of enlarge, but only found out today from Aimee that it's actually a 'Simpsons' quote :) cloudette is all mine :)
Bright jackets and vests like that are common among our uniformed officers too. I heard it was Pi Day yesterday... didn't think to stop anywhere for pie though, and here there's a lovely pie shop right in my neighbourhood!
ReplyDeleteI had a slice of pizza for the same reason!
ReplyDeleteQuiche for Pi day, only in America !
ReplyDeleteAnd not only for the idea but also because you Americans must be the only ones on this planet to put the month first when you give a date. To us Europeans, March 14th is 14/03/2016 so of course the story doesn't work then... and couldn't ever work since there aren't 14 months in the year.
Oh my goodness, ditto what Nathalie said!
ReplyDeleteAnd today you should beware the Ides of March!
