HO+K
10 South Broadway, the local headquarters of HO+K, one of the leading architectural and design firms in the world. Founded in St. Louis in 1955 as Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum (sounds like a law firm), it now has offices around the globe. You can see photos of its work on its own website here.
Never heard about them and Hok means in dutch poor shed in the form of a box , but looking at their site they make nice work. In this case no "Nomen est Omen".
ReplyDeleteBrilliant link Bob.. I wonder if they'll get the contract for the restoration and renovation of Westminster Palace!
ReplyDeleteThey've designed some very interesting buildings but the headquarters seem a bit plain.
ReplyDeleteQuite a contrast between the building and the one being reflected.
ReplyDeleteSounds like cheese to me. At least the middle name, but missing a z. Super shot though.
ReplyDeleteI was trying to remember where their name sounded familiar from. Then, I clicked on the link and at first thought, "Oh, yes, these guys design stadiums [or stadia, for the fastidious] and convention centers," then I saw the Columbus [Ohio] minor league park among their credits and thought, "Of course, I remember they designed that terrific new in-town baseball park in Columbus." I went to several games when I worked in Columbus and the park was itself a home run.
ReplyDeleteVery cool how you composed this one.
