Little War

Lafayette Square 2014-11-01 3 (Guerilla Streetfood)

That's what guerrilla means in Spanish, but what does guerilla streetfood mean? Fidel, Che and Raoul noshing on the sidewalks of Havanna?

It's a food truck. We have quite a few of them around town, providing everything from Korean-Mexican fusion to cupcakes. In the one below a nice lady from Texas uses her raised pistol to draw our attention to her Tex-Mex tacos. Seems like there's been a lot of guns around The Lou lately.

  1. Weird.

When you click on their website it says 'fresh.local.filipino'.

Go figure where guerilla fits into the picture...

  3. They probably just picked a word that would look cool and get peoples attention and I'm guessing it worked.

  4. It's interesting how these food fads get started and take off. The food truck revolution has taken over the country and I don't think a single shot was ever fired.
Congrats on the charity shoot. That should be a lot of fun to photograph!

  5. At many a time, the flock of vending trucks seem to be on the verge of 'war'. You are correct, Sir.

  6. I'm hungry.

I remember the ice-cream van in England when I was a kid and now they are popping up all over Paris. There's even one in V. which I will need to check out sometime...

  7. The closest thing we have around here is the ice cream truck--which we stopped on the Sam's Club parking lot earlier this week!

  8. I'm probably the only person left in America who doesn't go to these food trucks. I'm never sure about the sanitation . . .
