Paris skies were lead gray on Friday. It was neither warm or cool, but very humid. Not a great day for tourism. We made it to the Pompidou Center and not much else. We are getting older. The forced-march style of tourism doesn't work so well anymore.
These scenes are all outside the museum. The man in the top photo was in a wheelchair, playing exquisite accordion. The fourth shot is one of several sculptures in a pool of water by Niki de Saint Phalle, well-represented in St. Louis.
Out to the Palace of Versailles on Saturday, followed by dinner with Versailles de Quimper and Olivier.

Great series. I really like the portrait of the musician. Last snap reminds me of a photo I took there back in the mid 1980s.
ReplyDeleteWhen it was first built, I used to dislike and severely resent its intrusion....but it's kind of grown on me.
ReplyDeleteOhmyohmyohmy!
ReplyDeleteI will never understand the fascination of sitting on the hot concrete around the Pompidou and Parisians do it all the time. The Pompidou is not my favcorite in Paris but I do love the colorful sculptures in the fountain when it's working! Lucky you to see Olivier and Ciel!
ReplyDeleteLeft a tale about the musician on your FB post.
That musician looks like a real character.
ReplyDeleteA little bit of everything, Bob. You got a couple of giggles out of me today.
ReplyDeleteSince I have never been to Paris, you have photographed parts of Paris I have never seen even in other peoples' photos. :)

ReplyDeleteJust catching up.
ReplyDeleteYou are certainly on the move and it looks like you are having quite a vacation jaunt.
