Amazing things happen when I stop being lazy and use a tripod. A shot of the Webster Groves carnival rides while the crowd, including a close personal friend, wait for the fireworks to start.
I got so many good fireworks shots that I'm still editing and can't decide which to use. Decisions have to be made very soon.

You are absolutely right Bob...a tripod can do magic! Your shots are really good, I will look forward to seeing more :)
ReplyDelete-- An empty corridor...
I love the way the movement is visible in the first one. And the second one have a little look if it comes straight out a reportage of National Geographic. Good shots and shows that a tripod still is needed for quality work.
ReplyDeleteYou and I were both at Community Days on the 4th... and both have the same issue: too many good photos.
ReplyDeleteI braved the Fair STL crowds (but not really) for fireworks and had a front row seat - I didn't have a lens wide enough for it all! 80% of those shots turned out, so I'm having that tough time choosing too!
I wish I could do this!

ReplyDeleteStunning shots in both cases, Bob!
ReplyDeleteYour images came out nicely. Deciding how long an exposure to make is the trick. I agree, that tripods can make a big difference.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you've caught the movement of the ride. Looks like quite a few people were ready for the fireworks!
ReplyDeleteNice work Bob very much worth taking the time to drag the tripod along.
ReplyDeleteGlad you used the tripod, it's such a fabulous shot! I've got a tripod... which I never used! LOL! Guess I'm lazier than you, Bob.
