There was a series of bicycle races in four neighborhoods over four days. This one went around Francis Park in St. Louis Hills (which is actually pretty flat). The Tour de FRANCE-is. Ha. Get it?
The problem for the riders was that it was bloody hot. I shot this at noon when the temperature was 95 F / 35 C and it was worse as the day went on. The pace got slower and slower with each lap.

Bloody hot. Not here it's 47 right now. Summer has faded.
ReplyDeleteI guess this would be a better late September event than early September event.
ReplyDeleteGood shot, Bob.
ReplyDeleteI've seen bike races done in July here, in our Little Italy neighborhood. It's more sprint racing, around a set route of blocks in the area.
tres bon comme nom "le tour de francis" ;)
ReplyDeleteThey must have so much stamina Bob, makes me tired just thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteWay too warm for a bike race. Must have been hard for everyone involved.
ReplyDelete95? That would be excruciating. The riders get hot as they exert themselves. You can't drink enough water to offset that heat!
