As mentioned, we took a special offer last night at Kemoll's, one of our fine old Italian restaurants, for dinner and fireworks The view faces the Arch and Mississippi from the 40th floor of the tallest building downtown. The meal was terrific and the view unique. I was bedeviled, though, by the reflections in the windows. You can see the kitchen door towards the left of the second picture. Maybe a helicopter next time.
Sometimes unwanted reflections just happen. You still had the perfect perch for fireworks watching.
ReplyDeleteHardly noticed the reflections Bob, through glass is always tricky. What a great night out this must have been. The fireworks can't outdo the Arch no matter how they try :)
ReplyDeleteI found a good place, I think. But I haven't seen my pictures on the computer yet.
ReplyDeleteSorry the reflections were plotting - don't they know that things will be better if the lights are much lower or off?
Spectacular shots, Bob.
ReplyDeleteThese are from a unique angle. Julie and I were on a boat in the Charles River in Boston for the 4th. The soot and embers from the fireworks landed on us. A window would have protected us, but interfered with the photos. We returned last night.
ReplyDeleteA circular polarizing lens will take care of those reflections next time. Make sure it's circular (not linear) because that's the one that also works for digital.
