Season's Over

Season's Over

Well, the home town team won the baseball championship and everyone got excited for a while. Now people's attention is turning to other things. It's getting colder. Outside Busch Stadium, the statue of Stan Musial stares into a wide, gray sky, waiting for a day in April.

    i can't believe a winning season can ever really be over. you may not be dancing in the streets anymore but there's a little part of your hearts that will forever be dancing that little victory jig.

    Nicely composed, Bob. Even though I am an AL and Red Sox fan, I always admired Stan Musial. He seemed to be as good a person as he was an athlete. In the category of Hank Aaron in baseball and Roger Staubach in football and maybe Bill Russell in basketball (though Russell was prickly).
