Just the basics. I think that one of the best things you can do with an Arch photo is to find a cloudless day make a pinpoint exposure on the bright metal skin, and then let the sky go black.
I've been really bad about commenting on my friends' blogs lately. There are a number of hoary English legal maxims they teach American law students, one of which is that the law is a jealous mistress. So many hard deadlines, so many specific responsibilities. So, it's just been exploring new dimensions in overwork lately. Oh, and the World Series distractions. The Rangers are up on the Cardinals three games to two in the bast-of-seven series. Last night's game in STL was postponed due to rain and will be played tonight. The Cardinals have to win the two remaining games at home to win the championship. Lots of distractions.

ReplyDeleteGreat Arch photo, as usual. I will be setting my recorder and keeping myself uninformed about the game until I get home tomorrow night and watch it. I will be on pins and needles.
ReplyDeleteThe texture is amazing seen like this. Wonderful blue sky ;-).
ReplyDeleteAbsolutly great one. Strange how strong the design stays from every angel, color or whatever. Thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteYeah yeah yeah, work is the excuse. The mistress's real name is Cardinals :-)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how many new and unique angles you can take this arch from Bob, this is brilliant. Just looking through your entries for the photography show, do you have to pick ONE or can they all go in? How hard would it be to choose!! Your winning entry from last year was STUNNING!! and before I forget....Go the Cardinals....!!
ReplyDeleteI really like this one. Usually you do not see the texture of the arch. This is really cool!
ReplyDeleteYes...spot on, dramatic exposure.
