Thursday Arch Series, French Division

.
Gateway Arch Shirt (Olivier)

A photoblogger's dinner in Paris a week ago. Cieldequimper of Versailes Daily Photo joined us. We brought some St. Louis souvenirs for our French associates. Above, le plus grand fan de mon blog (well, but then there is Virginia) our friend and colleague Olivier Perrin of Evry Daily Photo. Olivier received a prized Gateway Arch tee shirt and may now be the only person in the Île-de-France to wear such a treasure.

Below, Lucie of the Cergiepontin photoblog, Olivier and me earlier in the day at the opening of his photography show at the departement building of Essonne, the region that includes Evry. We were the first visitors. Photo courtesy of Mrs. C.

  2. Yesssss indeed Olivier.
Ah mes amis, wonderful to see you all there !

Just like you Olivier, Bob's Thursday Arch is my favorite photo series in the blogosphere.

Bob, you never told me Mrs. C. could hold a camera too - thanks to her for providing that wonderful photo of three photographers I much admire.

I love the photo in the back with the child playing with water. I love it! I know Olivier returns to this fountain time and time again in summer and I never tire of his candid shots of kids having fun there

  3. Translated for Olivier :
Ah oui, yesssssss !

  5. I can't believe you found a way while in France to get a picture of your beloved arch on for today's post, you are a master Bob!! So nice to see Olivier, I'm a big fan of his blog too, was hoping to catch a glimpse of Ciel also, but as Nathalie states, 'ever elusive'!! Great post!

  8. What a wonderful gathering, and a very clever way to continue your Thursday Arch series. I also was wondering how you would do that in the midst of your series from France.

  13. How lovely to meet Cieldequimper and Olivier (Olivier not thru a fisheye lens which is scary!) What a grand time you all had I know.

  14. What a thrill to have such good photo friends come to the opening of his show. Olivier has been such a constant encouragement to me over the years, and I'm so glad you got to hang out. Ciel de Quimper visited Seattle and we got to go photowalking with together with Chuck. She's lovely. I will be in Paris the last weeks of October and hope to meet up with folks while I'm there. How many lenses did you pack, Bob? I've been debating taking one of my DSLRs or just packing a G12 or S95. I do a lot of walking and bicycling when I'm there, so I'm hesitant to bring a big rig. But part of me knows I'll wish I had brought at least one body and lens. Should I take two lenses. I just don't want to lug a lot of stuff. Your advice appreciated, oh globe trotting photo friend. :-).
