Out on the rounds of STL's artists open studios weekend. We usually think of painting, sculpture, photography and such at this event, but there are textile artists and clothing makers as well. The best I met was Michael Drummond. He lives and works in a loft downtown. As his web site says, he makes it different or he doesn't make it. Drummond makes costumes for Opera Theater of St. Louis and one-of-a-kind dresses for big-time models. He's a damn good model himself.
la mode la mode la mode, j'aime beaucoup la dernière photo
ReplyDeleteThat's a very nice change from the art I was expecting and I like the way he poses!
ReplyDeleteCool designs behind him there, and you can tell he has no problems with being in front of the camera lens, nice work Bob.
ReplyDeleteSo you chose not to go down the postcard way today? I'm sure you could have found a suitable arch.
ReplyDeleteRe my own postcard today I looked up what was on postcard stands in Avignon and found that artsy b&w were very much an 'in' thing. I figured it would be a good idea to go down that path. People tend to send photos of the popes palace direct from their i-phone to their friends, so standard colour scenes don't sell so well. What continues to sell is the artsy stuff.
It is a good thing that the black and white outfit to his left is on a mannequin and not a live model, or it might not be suitable for a family website.
ReplyDeletean excellent series of shots, bob!
ReplyDeleteNice portrait of the man.
ReplyDeleteLove the poses you put/caught him in.
ReplyDeleteGreat portraits Bob!
ReplyDeleteYou tell his story so beautifully in words and photos. I particularly love the portrait second from last.
