The All Star pre-game ceremonies were, in a way, more interesting than the game itself. A company of troops recently returned from the Middle East carried a long, tightly rolled bolt of fabric onto the field, then opened it to reveal this. The flag covered the outfield as the National Anthem was performed.
Obviously, this post is not about the Arch itself but it sure is our best local backdrop.

magnifique avec le drapeau américain, une belle carte postale.
ReplyDeleteHier je te demandais, qu'elle était la référence de ton lensbaby que tu avais amené en France ?
splendid with the American flag, a nice postcard. Yesterday I asked you, that it was the reference of your lensbaby which you had brought in France?
Looks like you even caught Sheryl Crow on the big screen!
ReplyDeleteThese flags are very impressive. I saw on a few years ago here in Phoenix being rolled out before a world series game.
Wonder how much that baby weighs. It's huge!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got a "twofer" on that shot. What a great slice of Americana you got there B.

What a brilliant photo, on so many levels! That arch really is ubiquitous, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific shot. Were you sitting in your own seats when you took this pictures or were you roaming the stadium for the best location? You succeeded in some terrific bits of Americana. Do you think if you photoshopped out those three buildings and left just the arch that anyone would know the difference?
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! I must have been asleep at the wheel to have missed this photo! I love your "Thursday Arch series!"
ReplyDeleteThis fits into your arch series very nicely. Photographs don't get any more American than this. Well done!
