This was put together a bit hastily but you wouldn't expect me to post a picture of a literal piece of glass, would you? If the idea is too obscure, click here.

TOMORROW: one more Mardi Gras street portrait for now and then STL DPB is on the road again. Virginia, can you make this page sing Willie Nelson's On the Road Again? This is more-or-less a business trip with some fun attached. With luck, you will find out what on Tuesday.

WHAT I'M DOING THESE DAYS THAT I DON'T USUALLY DO: cook. We can't have our recovering patient standing over the stove. I've gone slack on this over the years. My wife and both our children are excellent cooks. My son in law is a professional chef. I leave it to them and go edit pictures. It's not likely I'll poison us, though.

AND BY THE WAY, sincere but puzzled thanks to PJ of Pensacola Daily Photo for her post that went up Saturday evening U.S. time titled (get this) Bob Crowe Sunday. Hooda thunk.
I wondered if someone would feature Philip Glass - a genius. Well done. Great. Nice photo too.
ReplyDeleteWell... now I know the genius! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever choice!
ReplyDeleteThanx!
Clever, clever!
ReplyDeleteAhhh...Philip Glass...cubed! Very tricky!
ReplyDeleteI love Philip Glass and you've done a wonderful job for Theme Day. And don't be so puzzled, Bob. Your totally Zen.
ReplyDeleteClever but there's not a gun big enough to make me listen to Philip Glass again B!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to help with Willie but Deezer , the last I looked, had changed and I gave up. Dusty Lens uses another player. Try him. I'l be happy to hum "ON the Road Again" for ya. Sorry I'm missing that road trip. I would have loved to have joined you all. Have fun and take a few pictures, OK?HAR
Best to Mrs.C!!
Clever idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad someone chose that, well done! I wonder if the top portrait is by Rankin?
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!
ReplyDeleteThe second I saw it I thought, "Phillip Glass," but it occurred to me I'd never SEEN him, so I had to look. My husband was a musician with very wide ranging listening habits so I have heard Glass, but don't play his work around the house myself. His influence on music forms others use has been so widespread, I think I hear his touches everywhere. Now, do you own this Glass under glass cube, and if so, what lens did you use for this shot, cuz I love it. Enjoy your kitchen sojourn, and best wishes for your sweetie's continued speedy recovery.

A touch of glass of a more lateral kind. Hats off to you, but I'm with V on this one about never hearing anything form him again with the exception of his arrangement of the Sound of Silence.
ReplyDeleteYou lucky! Give Ms. DCC a hug from me. She is such a thoughtful blogger. I hope your trek in the storm goes well and that you enjoy getting some shots. Keep warm out there.
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for letting me know it was a lensbaby and how you did the lighting. I think you got a very nice effect. Hey, you give me a thought. I should dig out my lensbaby and take a shot or two of a glassybaby. . .
Also, you may be one of the only folks who would appreciate my excitement. Last night Manu of SFDP sold me his two year old full frame camera and now I will be able to learn to do the architectural shots I've wanted to try. Yippeee. Okay. Enough sharing.
Have a good trip Bob.
