Royalty and mob mix on the street in St. Louis' Soulard neighborhood in a playful re-enactment on the beheadings of King Louis and Queen Marie Antoinette. Think about that sentence for a moment.
SEEN ON THE STREET IN ST. LOUIS: A bumper sticker reading I MISS PLUTO.
TOMORROW: A blind cat named Gigi and her companion, Issam

Well, that's quite an event! Fun photos! I'm back again, hopefully for a long while, after an illness and short stay in the hospital. I've missed all the bloggers. I'll return often!
ReplyDeleteWow. I wonder if the people would attend a real beheading? I doubt it and it wouldn't be funny. I do remember when lynchings were happening and public executions were as common as picnics after Sunday school.
ReplyDeleteMarie Antoinette with a go cup. Gotta love it.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait till tomorrow to see Gigi and Issam.
ils sont violent dans ta ville ;o))
ReplyDeletethey are violent in your town ;o))
Looks like a fun parade. Cheers from West Sacramento Photo of the Day.
ReplyDeleteI spent two years in St. Louis on a temporary job assignment and lived in the Mansion House downtown. I had dinner in Soulard many times. I've been enjoying your site for a long time. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a "fun" event.
