We're going to do a Latin American Week on STL DPB. Our Hispanic population is small compared to many American cities but it has a vibrant presence.Today's picture is a bit of a teaser. I'm asking for your comments or guesses. Why a Latino theme this week? Why are these two guys wearing these head-thingies? What do they refer to? Correct guessers are invited to select a photo from any of my posts and I'll mail you a print. More will be revealed tomorrow.

Cinco de Mayo, es verdad. Are these guys lucha libre? We have a growing Hispanic population in East Tennessee, and there was a Cinco de Mayo festival this weekend (which I couldn't go to because of work. pffft).

ReplyDeleteKnoxville girl is right. It has to be because of Cinco de Mayo. About the masks? Either they just saw the latest super hero movie and are super hero wannabes, they're ready to stick up the corner groceria, or they are wrestling fans. My guess is the latter:)

ReplyDeleteWell, first of all, this is terrific photo. I like the portrait close up you took about those gentlemen wearing masks. Which is remind me of an agile latino wrestler (I don't remember his name) on Friday Night Wrestling on TV - Smack Down.
