Okay, I caved. This week's Arch picture is a "postcard" shot, contrary to my usual style.
I shot this on my way from the garage on the day I took pictures from the top of the Arch, like last Thursday's post. The pool in the foreground of this picture is the same as the one in the lower right of that photo shot from above. Doesn't look like the same place.

Very cool, nice "postcard" shot, I like it. I have a few pix of the arch from when I was there a couple years ago.
ReplyDeleteI DO have some suggestions for you, I will try to email you later, I have a doctor appointment this AM--remind me if you don't here from me soon.
Cranbrook, Heidelberg project, Greenfield village, the DIA to start with a just a few. I have to give you more specific info. The Scarab Club.
ReplyDeleteHey, you're questioning my taste! I LIKE postcard shots, esp. this one!
ReplyDeleteCool reflection pic, a complete circle of arch. Well, more of an elipse than a true circle.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with the others. This would be a better than average postcard.
ReplyDeletewaouhh...ce reflet est magnifique, superbe, j'adore
ReplyDeletewaouhh… this reflection is splendid, superb, I adore
I'd be happy to have taken that shot myself, the reflection and the calm water is perfect.

Oh my, this is a wonderful piece of structure. And the beautiful reflection makes it look twice bigger.
ReplyDeleteAnother perfect photo! Love the reflection.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments. Flattery will get you everywhere. The irony is that I'm not nuts about this picture myself. Or, to put it another way, it turned out fine but I wouldn't hang it on my wall. I am indifferent about pretty pictures. I want interesting pictures and I don't find this interesting. Nothing challenging in it. Had to find a pic to post - heavy workload this week - and this was ready to go. My post for Friday is another shot from the top, one that's more up my alley. See what you think.
ReplyDeleteOops, sorry. I meant to say Saturday's post.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to resist the postcard shots of the arch. If you live in St. Louis and like to take pictures (I'm not calling myself a photographer, yet) you'll eventually have an armload of pictures of the arch. Some of them will be postcard shots.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, a postcard shot of the arch was my first decent picture with my little digital point and shoot camera, followed immediately by a postcard shot of the Eads Bridge.
My second favorite shot of the arch I took when I was 10. I don't know where it is, now, but it was taken with a 126 camera. This used cartridge film and had square pictures. I actually had some pretty cool pictures with that camera.
Enough about me, what I meant to say was I like this shot - even if it is a postcard shot!
very nice, the angle works great.
ReplyDeletethis is a great shot...I like it!
