Texans have a phrase, all hat and no cattle, to describe a phony cowboy, someone who adopts the dress and the talk but doesn't know which end of a horse is the front. Looks like I may have found one in the St. Louis airport Saturday morning while waiting for a flight to Philadelphia, which doesn't have a CDPB and certainly deserves one. (I may have sparked interest in a PHL bartender last night.) Can you make out the Nikon tag on the bag on the floor?
By the way, this is my first post of a picture outside the St. Louis city limits. Ready for a St. Louis civics lesson? I thought so. The City of St. Louis is a city within the State of Missouri. It is also a County of the State of Missouri. However. St. Louis County is a different county of the State of Missouri, completely surrounding the City from the Mississippi River to the north and around to the river on the south. Got that? The mailing address for many but not all places in STL County is still St. Louis (true for my home in the County). So, I have decided that anything in St. Louis City or County is fair game for this blog.
TOMORROW: STL CDPB Visits Philadelphia
That's my kind of guy. Relaxing. I wonder if he missed his horse and has to take public transportation.
ReplyDeleteI have celebrated this day, Mother's Day in my country, with a magazine cover for my wife. I hope you can see it.
Great capture !!!
ReplyDeleteWaiting at an airport is no-one's favorite activity, but this guy is making good use if his time! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteSomebody gonna come snatch up that Nikon if he ain't sleeping with one ear open.
ReplyDeleteAll I could think of was how bloody uncomfortable airport seats are, and how the small of my back would be in agony!
ReplyDeletenice photo and story, when i was a kid i always assumed that a person dressed in hat like your guy are real cowboys who always gallop eith their horses
ReplyDeleteI like the photo.
ReplyDeleteYou ate at Morimoto? I'm so envious! I was in Philly for a conference exactly one year ago and did not make any reservations.
ReplyDeleteYou photo of the restaurant is spectacular! I have seen the photos of the inside and it is amazing. How was the food? Was the restaurant as beautiful as it looked in the photos?
I'm heading to the same meeting again this weekend but it's in Crystal City, VA. Wish it were somewhere more interesting.
