Snow White

I took pictures at four shows yesterday plus the outdoor family day activities and kinda went overboard. The big event was ERA Theatre's Snow White, which was quite a spin on the Disney and Brothers Grimm versions. Snow White herself dresses in passionate red. There is an evil stepsister who doesn't have a good bone in her body and a bubble-blowing prince charming. Oh, and seven very tall dwarves. And a gigantic fruit salad. And a plot twist at the end.

It was a visual candy store. So many more good shots I could edit. But it's back to work at the festival for me shortly.

Snow White, Again

ERA Theatre, one of the companies at the Theatre Crawl, was working on a variation of the Snow White tale. The finished version is to be presented at the St. Louis Fringe Festival next month. It had something to do with apples and cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon. I didn't completely get it. It should be more fully formed if I shoot it again in a few weeks.

Snow . . . White?

Back to the St. Louis Fringe's Five Fifths, warped retellings of Grimm's fairy tales. As the evening went on I sort of lost track of which mini play was supposed to come from which story. It was hard to tell at times. I think this is based on Snow White - beautiful woman, apple - but she has evidently decided to chuck the purity stuff in favor of her sensual side.

There were a number of characters in this bit - full size humans, not dwarfs, but they might have been meant to be analogs. I'll get to that as I have time to edit.
