STL PUBLIC SCULPTURE - MIGHT AS WELL INCLUDE THIS ONE

Often seen here, the statue of the Apotheosis of St. Louis in front of the art museum in Forest Park. The streets are clear now but the ground is still snow covered and it's staying cold for awhile.

We have a few statues like that in Stockholm, but with kings on horses, one just outside the Royal Palace.

The Apotheosis of St. Louis is such an iconic landmark, but there is something extra special about seeing it stand tall against a snowy backdrop. It gives the whole scene in front of the Art Museum such a regal, timeless feel. Stay warm out there, it sounds like that St. Louis winter is really digging in.

This is a king, too, Louis IX of France.
