So The Light Is No Good?

Renaissance Faire 2015-06-07 3

Almost any photography teacher will tell you to avoid sunny mid-day light. Too harsh, too contrasty. Well, when life gives you lemons . . .

Love the look and especially the hair of the young man on top. James Dean wannabe.

Ya, ya, ya. I know. No shooting between 11AM-12. Too harsh. Sun at your back. Thank you Kodak. As we all know. Photographs can be taken ANYtime. You just have to do a bit of finagling to get the shot. I like the faces catching sun and shadows here. Good show!

Quite a contrast between both images, Bob.

If only natural light was always perfect for shooting... :-) The portraits are wonderful and yes, it's a very James Deanish kinda guy.

I certainly take my share of photos with harsh sunlight, but on those days I prefer landscapes and stuff other than portraits. But, for portraits, give me cloudy days.

I shoot mid-day snaps all the time.

I love the first shot Bob, to me the light and shadow play on the faces makes it tres interesting.
