He Used To Be Famous

Alexander von Humboldt, Tower Grove Park

Alexander von Humboldt in Tower Grove Park. This used to be a big name. There's a Humboldt Park in Chicago near where my son lives. The other two statues on the main axis of Tower Grove are Christopher Columbus and William Shakespeare, but who today has heard of this guy?

Late post. I fell asleep last night with the computer on my lap, this half done.

le traitement HDR est bien fait, assez leger et cela rend bien avec les couleurs de l'automne

Oh Bob, you sound exhausted! This is a lovely composition of autumn colour here.

Never heard of him, but love the colors in the background.

I have heard of him, though it's been awhile. An ideal setting for the statue!

Gee, Bob, now I'm sad. In 100 years, do you think people will say the same thing about the statues of me?

There is also the Humboldt current off the coast of Chile and Peru, and Humboldt County in California named for Humboldt Bay at Eureka, Ca. The famous German naturalist has a lot going for him on the left coast.

I have. I didn't know about Chile, Peru and California but you can't miss Humboldt university in Berlin...
