Thursday Arch Series

.
Gateway Arch 2012-10-28 1

The Arch series is back today. After five years of almost weekly posts it's been hard to find new points of view. However, I was down by the riverfront recently, shooting some of the new paintings on the flood wall, when this caught my eye. Gorgeous light, near sunset on an autumn afternoon. I prefer the top one but you may see it differently.

You see, it's always possible to find new points of view! The urban feel is great!

I agree with you . I like the top photo. The only thing I don't like is the slanting line of the roof above. But it is what it is. Still a great arch picture.

It's such a challenge to find a new look on an 'old' subject, but you're always able to!

I admire that you still find new ways of showing it. In two-plus years I have shown some things twice and feel that the subject is exhausted.

Well done Bob, so good to see the Arch in this more urban setting, like the little sneaky peek at the bridge also.

The top one is fantastic, forget the second. I just LOVE this new approach to the arch. The way the arch is set in street life gives the photo a somewhat mundane feel that makes it close to hyper-realism. Put this one in your 'keep' basket, please!
