Late Theme Day Pic: Cobblestones

.
Cobblestones On The Levee

I did not do theme day last Sunday. The topic didn't appeal to me. But, since the portal was vandalized and down for a long time, the authorities extended the time for submissions by two weeks. Then it hit me: there was something obvious here, something I've shot over and over - the cobblestone levee downtown leading into the Mississippi. D'OH! as Homer Simpson says when he slaps himself in the head for his own stupidity. So here we are.

There's a page for these images on the portal now. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

Apologies for not posting any comments yesterday. My lame excuse: I worked most of the day, although we let the staff leave early for Good Friday. Went out shooting for a while downtown in the late afternoon and zipped home for dinner. Then my wife and I went the Repertory Theater of St. Louis for a production of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. Considering what I do for a living, it just seemed so appropriate.

Now that's what I call cobblestones.

Very appropriate for the theme...looks like they're not easy to walk on!

Fantastic image for the theme Bob,glad you decided to show it. Down into the Mississippi, that just sounds like the line out of a movie to me....!!

So perfect for the theme, it would have been a pity not to show it. The leaping water, side light and battered uneven surface all combine to make a great photo.
B&W was the obvious choice. Excellent.
