Sunset, Christmas Eve, Interstate 44

.
Sunset, Christmas Eve, I 44

The last shot after my Christmas Eve walkabout downtown. The highway I take home runs generally southwest with some twists and turns. At some times of year parts of it look directly into the sunset (and it can be blinding). Here we have the last glow of day. Unlike yesterday's shot, I was not at a stoplight but traveling at the helm of my trusty Honda. Well, the traffic was very light and I was going below the speed limit and I was actually looking at the road, albeit through a viewfinder, and I just couldn't resist the color. Kids, don't try this at home.

Gorgeous view.

Not been there but done that. My kids got angry at me when they learned about it.

I suggest we get a driver. We could sit in the passenger seat and take as many photos as we want.

on the road ;o)) tu sais qu'il est interdit de prendre des photos en conduisant ;o))
I wish you a happy new year 2012

Oh my, I do that all the time. Is the speed limit 60?!

I like driving into sunsets after the blinding part.

Gorgeous glow on the horizon Bob, works so well with the colour of the darkening sky. That is one very long, very straight road. It doesn't LOOK like you were veering all over the road at the time of 'click' haha!

great shot but isn't this against the law?

Thanks for the good driving advice, Dad! Looks like it was a quick ride home too. No traffic? Just a 'blue light' special.

I take many photos from behind the wheel.... On my way to California last summer I got quite good at balancing the camera on my left shoulder for side shots...don't tell the Highway Patrol. I'll deny it.

Happy New Year!

Have I done that? On the advice of counsel, . . .

Have a great year in 2012, Bob.
