Thursday Arch Series

.
Arch 2010-09-11 - 1

It gets harder and harder to find new angles from which to view my favorite monument. Here's one, though. I was between 13th and 14th Streets looking east, between Chestnut and Market. This undistinguished office building sits square in the way but, at least here, it makes for some interesting geometry. The Civil Courts Building is reflected in the glass.

Sorry I lost track of the day of the week again.

The reflection looks like something creepy but it seems the arch is protecting the building from whatever the creepiness is.

Oh I thought a new building had gone up smack dab under the Big A!

OK, what about views of ominous skies surrounding the arch or views from the arch looking down or inside the arch...I'm just sayin'

PS When I was a child growing up in St. Louis they came to my gradeschool and got signatures of all of the students and said they were to embedded somewhere in the arch. Who knows if my memory serves me correctly, or not.
