Thursday Arch Series

.
The crowd turns out on a mild early winter day. Their awe of the Arch reminds me of how the apes reacted to the Monolith at the beginning of Kubrick's 2001, only this monument will not send us to the stars. It's good enough for me, though.

Off to New Jersey in the morning for a blitz two-day visit with my side of the family. There will be something appropriate to the season here. Maybe something from NYC on Sunday.

When I see the myriad ways you photograph your arch it reminds me of a visitor I once had when I lived in Wales. She said you could live in my tiny valley for ever and ever and never stop finding something different to paint or photograph. You show us this every time we see your arch. It astounds me how many different ways you see it. thanks Bob. And wishing you and yours a very happy Christmas.

great perspective....and the comparison to 2001 is appropriate. But you never know, it might send us to the stars, or at least inspire some to imagine!
