Le Roi Saint

.
The original St. Louis, King Louis IX of France. He makes an appearance here from time to time. The monumental statue is atop Art Hill, in front of the St. Louis Art Museum. The official name of this thing is The Apotheosis of St. Louis. What a concept. We could use an apotheosis around here.

Gonna get back out with my camera on this holiday weekend. I have two fun invitations for Monday. Someone from the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra asked me to shoot the Gypsy Caravan, their gigantic Memorial Day antique, craft and flea market. Later in the day, Mrs. C. and I will head out to the St. Louis Renaissance Faire. As regular readers know, I received a personal summons from the Queen of the Faeries so it must be magical.

Ah, merci ! It's a very nice statue though I don't really know about his apotheosis. Scuttling off to history book......

I've probably said it before but this is one of my favorite places in St. Louis. It is a great museum sitting in the most majestic spot in the city!
