Thursday Arch Series

For me, one of the most interesting things about the Arch is how it fills space, reminding me of the work of sculptor Richard Serra on a much grander scale. But the Arch's magic trick is that it fills space differently from every point of view.

The Thursday Arch Series will be on vacation with me for the next couple of weeks. I hope I can find other images to interest you. Next Thursday I will be in Shanghai.

You should check out the Richard Serra exhibit at MoMA, if you ever come this way. It is awesome.

Hi Bob - it's nice to see various pictures of the St Louis Arch. I've heard of it - but never seen it. I'm not that far away, maybe I'll visit someday.

I have posted a lot of photos of the downtown streetscape (statues) on my Wichita blog. Do come when you have time, and browse through it. I'm with you - I could live with 5 basic elements - earth, air, water, fire and the INTERNET! ;) I couldn't get use to sending up smoke signals.

You know, seeing this photo just now made me think of the guy who tried to parachute off the Arch and ended up sliding down the leg. WHEEEEEEE! I don't even know if that story or true or not, but it's certainly interesting.
